My Growing Oak Openings Prairie

In the late spring, I added a few new flowers to my Oak Openings native prairie.  This gorgeous yellow Prairie Coneflower is one of them.  She happily took up with a Black-eyed Susan and a clump of Little Bluestem for company.  They’re having a wonderful summer together, despite the dry conditions.

My fingers are still crossed for some Blazing Star.  Stay tuned.

Oak Openings native plants. This Prairie Coneflower seems happy were she's been planted

I love planting Oak Openings natives – this Prairie Coneflower seems happy where she’s been planted on top of a sand dune with Little Bluestem and some Black-eyed Susan
